Acne
Maybe
you thought you would just outgrow it. Maybe you
thought it has to end at some point. At The Skin
Perfect Clinic, we have developed a specialized regimen
to give you a step wise response to your acne. This
will leave you with smooth, unblemished skin that you
will be proud to show off and go out with.
Our aestheticians will
first analyze your skin and discuss a detailed regimen
with you. Most of the time, this only involves the use
of a specialized skin care system that you can do at
home! We will then closely monitor this regimen. If
your acne needs more aggressive treatment, we will
adjust the skin care program.
What
is Acne?
Acne is a
combination of bacterial infection and a plugged hair
follicle (pore) – this is called a pimple. The pore
(hair follicle) is usually plugged with oil, dead skin,
or bacteria. Once the hair follicle is plugged, the
bacteria continues to grow and become more inflamed until
it erupts out of the skin.
This is
the way that all acne starts but, then it can go in
different directions. The following is a guide only for
educational purposes, not for medical diagnosis.
Many people wonder
why they get acne and other people do not?
First, you are not alone. It is not related to what
you eat, an unwashed face, or working out. The reality
is that it is due to many factors that are working way
below the skin. The factors that affect this include
your skin shedding cycle, oil production, genetics, and
your skin care program! Remember, acne did not get there
overnight; therefore it will take time and patience to
break the vicious cycle.
What can I do to
treat my acne?
The best way to
control acne is to prevent it. Once it forms, you have
to let it run its course. With all of our advances,
there is still not cure for acne. The skin care program
our aestheticians develop for you, will help keep acne
from forming so that you always have smooth skin.
My
dermatologist has prescribed me antibiotics. – isn’t
that the best?
Most acne can easily be
treated with a topical (applying on the skin) regimen
that does not involve medications.

Age
spots go by many names like liver spots, sun spots,
blemishes, dyspigmentation, and the medical name is
usually solar lentigo.
Our
skin care professionals, at The Skin Perfect Clinic have incorporated the latest scientific
advances in the treatment of sun spots or age spots.

What
causes age spots or liver spots?
"Age spots" look like
big freckles: they are flat and brownish but wider than
a centimeter across. They are commonly found on
sun-exposed areas like the face, hands, and lower arms.
While freckles appear in children and can darken with
the sun, age spots are due to a cumulative exposure to
sunlight, do not change in color, and usually occur
after the age of 40. Sometimes they are called "liver
spots" but, in fact, they have nothing to do with the
liver.
You do not have to treat
age spots. However, if you do not like the looks of
them, there are several options. Your doctor or
dermatologist may freeze them with liquid nitrogen. You
may buy a bleaching lotion or
you may get a chemical peel to slightly diminish them.
Just like the name, age
spots are just that. They usually arise due to aging.
However, sun exposure without protection certainly
speeds up the process. Call us now to learn how to
prevent age spots!
What treatments are available for age spots (liver
spots) or discolorations?
With all of the recent advances, there are many options
available. It all depends on how much they bother you
and how severe your age spots are. At
the Skin Perfect Clinic, we have all of
the options available so that you can make the best
choice
for you.
Wrinkles
We all hate them, unfortunately, we
all get them!
The Skin Perfect Clinic uses the most recent
science to help you obtain the healthiest skin possible.
The latest research shows that the
most important part of healthy, beautiful skin is
collagen. The more you have, the better. Smooth, soft,
and radiantly youthful skin has a thick layer of
collagen below the surface. The fact is, as we get older
collagen begins to fade away and our skin get thinner
with less elastin and collagen.
